Papua New Guinea’s number one brewer, the SP Brewery is continuing its long standing support for sport in Papua New Guinea by renewing its partnership with the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee and support to Team PNG.
Managing Director of SP Brewery, Stan Joyce signed a new agreement in Port Moresby today with the Secretary General of the PNG Olympic Committee, Auvita Rapilla at the Brewery’s headquarters.
“We are grateful for the support of SP Brewery who have been a great partner of the PNG Olympic Committee and Team PNG over the years.
“We welcome their partnership for the next three years and together with all of our other partners will continue to aim for the best performance and results for PNG,” Rapilla said.
She said the agreement is timely since it comes ahead of the 16th Pacific Games which will be held in Apia, Samoa in July this year.
Team PNG is trying to raise as much as it can to send Team PNG to Samoa and SP’s timely support is a boost in their efforts.
The new agreement is a cash sponsorship of K409,825 for three years beginning this year until 2021. This means it will also assist in Team PNG’s preparation for the 2020 Olympics which will be held in Tokyo, Japan.
The partnership is also aligned with SP Brewery’s Key Priorities which is to maintain stakeholder relationships.

SP Brewery is also the major sponsor of the prestigious SP Sports Awards since 1992 where it works in collaboration with the PNG Olympic Committee and the PNG Sports Foundation.
PNG Olympic Committee is proud to be associated with the SP Brewery as it continues to strive to provide opportunities for athletes while maintaining a responsible and positive image of the country and other stakeholders.
