Students from the Gordon International School as well as four other school were part of the event commemorating the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace which was held today, Aril 5th  at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.

Among the organisations that ran programmes and shared information were Team PNG HEROs from the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee. They ran the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) and held sessions on the Sustainable Development Goals for the students. This was part of the activities that they ran from their stall.

Students also had the opportunity to enjoy themselves in fun games and educational activities designed to inform them on the different values and agendas associated with the Day that is being celebrated.

This International Day of Sport for Development and Peace is observed every year on April 6th but the celebrations in Port Moresby today were held a day early to involve schools.
