Another national record for Papua New Guinea fell last weekend as the outdoor track & field season got under way in the USA.

This time, PNG athlete, Adrine Monagi improved on her national heptathlon record that she set at the NCAA Division 2 Championships last year.

Already in her final season of Inter collegiate athletics at the young age of 21, the PNG record holder was competing at her home track in San Angelo, Texas alongside team mate, Kami Norton who placed second at the recent indoor nationals.

The competition with Kami has been very good for Monagi who ran a personal best of 14.34 seconds in the 100m hurdles and put the short 11.04metres on her way to a points total of 5,221 for the seven-event heptathlon.
