Pacific Mini-Games

In 1981 the region introduced the first South Pacific Mini Games (now called the Pacific Mini Games) to enable smaller nations to host the games. The Pacific Mini Games is a multi-sport and a scaled-down version of the main Pacific Games and is similarly rotated on a four-year basis in the intervening years between the main games. Our performances at the Mini Games have somewhat mirrored our performances at the larger Pacific Games with PNG regularly finishing in the top four on the medal table. Funnily enough, our best and worst performance at the Mini-Games both came in the same country as at 1985 Cook Islands Games, we finished top of the table however back in Rarotonga for the 2009 games with a much smaller squad then usual we finished 11th on the table.
